Hey guys, great work, I always wanted to hear a wrestling radio station since 1995, and sorta sent a email to the wwe or f whatever u wanna call it and i wrote them a email and suggested it to them and i just got sick and tired of the same (computer) answers all the time and how they want everything their way and not open to any other ideas.. I did however notice that alot of indy promoters work on how the crowd is feeling and since this is entertainment shouldnt it be more about how the crowd feels? anyway this is probrably the most entertaining podcast out right now. and thanks for keepin us aware of what goes on behind the scenes… :-PP
I got directed to your site by wrestlezone.com. They posted a link for this podcast. I ended up listening to this one and the one with Andrew Goldstein. I was blown away how unproductive the environment is for a product that has to be dynamic to succeed. I also had a couple questions I want to ask you. I would ask on twitter, but I’m not sure they’d fit. First, what are your thoughts on the evolution of the John Cena character? Second, How come you guys were traveling from city to city and on the road 4 days a week if you only had to be at one show per week? And lastly, other than the rise of John Cena, what else are you most proud of from a creative standpoint from your days in WWE?
We would leave on a Sunday (sometimes Saturday if ppv day), have Raw on Monday, then SD on Tuesday, and come on home on Wed. Some weeks we’d stayin towns if it was cheaper for travel. We’d do house show loops, international tours, trips to developmental.
I thought Smackdown and Raw had completely different writing teams?
Hey Dave,
Got directed here from the Review-A-Wai site, Just to congratulate you on the podcast it is brilliant to get an unbias look into the creative process that is routinely critised by the IWC.
Cant wait for more!
Evidently I need to go back to school, dreadful grammar and spelling in that above comment.
What happened to the rest of the Joe Franciosi podcast?
We will have the rest in the coming weeks.
I love this site. These is the best podcast about wrestling i’ve ever heard. I have always wanted to know more about the inner workings of WWE and now finally I am getting that chance. I have listened to all but 1 of the formerly creatives so far and love every one of them.
Hey David, I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to do this podcast. I love listening to it, especially Formerly Creative. Keep up the good work.
I love the podcasts Dave, thanks a lot!
Thanks for all these great mp3s. Makes working in a cubicle much more bearable 🙂
Wrestlemania 27 podcast was great, keep up the great work with the podcasts, there terrific
Thanks. All I ask is you recommend it and share it with every fan who still wants wrestling.
Love your podcasts David! Thanks a lot!
Damn, man this site is genuis. I’ve been expecting someone to finally tell the stories of the past decade, we never hear anything about the last decade, EVERYONE has heard of the attitude era as WWE loves to milk the 90’s and people love talking about 90’s, no one talks about the last 10 years. One question for the former creative writers or just you, if given total free reign and an unlimited budget how would you revive the Katie Vick character, I loved the angle, pure shakespearen intellectually absurdly genius.
How about getting your podcats upon the ZUNE marketplace?
nice, try to get it up on itunes!
it is on itunes. Click the link above.
hey Dave I have a question and a idea.
1st the idea: in a way to maybe spice wwe up a little bit i have come up with a little concept that i thought of and was wondering what you think of it. Ok at the beginning of the year seperate the whole roster into 4 teams say like Team Cena, Team Orton, Team Punk, & Team Del Rio. Now just run shows like they normally would, but every time someone wins they get points for whichever team they are on. Raw, Smackdown, & NXT matches are 1 point, PPV matches are 5 points, title wins are 10 points, & audience vote are 15. Also at Bragging Rights have it be 4 members from each team in a 4 corner Survivor Series elimination match that winning team gets 20 pts. Do this through the year and present them with a trophy at the annual slammy awards. They wouldnt really have to mention this all the time just every now and then mention how many points each team has. Also they could use social networking sites for the teams to get people to vote for them in the audicence vote. The audience vote would be once a month, they would open the polls on wwe.com friday after smackdown and tell which team got the 15 points on the ppv. What you think? Mr Lagana.
Now my question. I am a huge fan of stables in wrestling my question is are there any stables you could make with the current wwe roster. Without Corre and Nexus involved. Also what other stables do you think could have been made while you were working for WWE
